My Dear Valentine (Vincent Valentine x Reader) Part 3

More years past and Vincent keep true to his promise ’till one day he stopped visiting altogether. You got worried when this happened. Then news for him being with someone named Lucrecia. That really broke your heart, but he wanted to be with her, then you will back down. After all, Vincent didn’t know about your feelings for him. Today you were cleaning dishes when there was a knock on the door. Your dad got up to get. Someone in a suit was there.

“Are you the ones that took care of Vincent Valentine?” the man asked.

“Yes, we are,” your dad answered.

Your mom got up and stood beside your dad.

“I’m afraid that he has gone missing,” said the man, “He may be dead due to -”

The man looked to the kitchen when there was a crashed. You dropped the plate you were cleaning and it fell to the ground and broke into millions of pieces. Your eyes widened and your mouth was open. You stared unblinkingly out the window. Your mom came to you and hold your arms.

“Lucy?” she asked.

You didn’t answer. Your mom looked back at your dad and the man.

“I’ll take her to her room,” she said, “excuse us.”

The man nodded. Your dad looked back at him.

“Continued,” he said.

“Mr. Valentine may be dead due to the Shinra Mansion being overrun by dangerous creatures. We have yet to see if any survived.”

Your dad nodded.

“Thank you,” he said.

The man bowed and left. Your dad sighed and closed the door.

“He’s not dead!” you shouted from upstairs.

Your dad frowned and looked up.

“Honey…” your mom said, “please calm down. I know he and you were good friends, but he -”

“No!” you shouted, “He’s not dead! He can’t die! He promised me! He promised! He..he…Mommy!”

You cried in her lap. She rubbed your back. Your mom looked up at your father, who was now standing in your bedroom doorway. They both frowned. That day you fell silent. Your paintings told your feelings. You would always paint an angel and a demon. The demon being dead and the angel weeping over it’s corpse, or the angel trying to restrict the demon. But there was this one painting that sent chills down your mom’s and dad’s back. It was an angle with long curly blond hair standing, looking at the person looking at the painting. Her chest was bleeding and on the wall next to her written in her own blood was the word ‘suffering’. Your parents took away your paint and brushes after seeing that. Now you only read the many books you have. One morning your mom was looking through the newspaper when she spotted something.

“Edward,” she called for your dad.

He came over. Your mom pointed out an advertisement from Shinra. They were looking for young women that were willing to join an experiment branch of the Soldier program called the Valkyries.

“This could give her a reason to try living again….” your mother said.

Your dad stared at it and then nodded.

“I’ll go show this to her,” he said.

He took the paper and knocked on the door frame of your room.

“Lucy?” he asked.

You just stared at your book. He sighed and came to sit by you.

“Lucinda I need to look at this,” your dad said holding out the paper.

He pointed out the Shinra advertisement for you to looked at it. You looked back at your dad in confusion.

“You…you could go and look for Vincent while you’re in that….” your dad said.

Your eyes widen.

“Really?” you asked.

This was the first time you spoke in a while. Your dad nodded. You gave him a big hug. The next day you got what you needed to packed was at the train station. Your mom and dad hugged you.

“Please be safe,” your mom said.

“I will try mom,” you told her.

“Knock them all dead,” your dad encourage.

You laughed and nodded. You grabbed your bag and headed to the train.

“And if you find Vincent!” your dad yelled, “Let him know that I’m going to kill him for reals for scaring us like that!”

You laughed again.

“I will!” you shouted.

You headed to your set and waved to your parents as the train started to leave. You sighed.

It has been years since Vincent’s father’s death. The both of you are at the age of 15 now. Your parents offered him a room for him to stay at your house, but he refused. so you brought it upon your self to check on him every morning before lessons. If you didn’t have any that day then you stayed with him ’till dinner time. Today was one of those days. You knocked on the door. you heard something fall before the door opened.

“Morning Lucy,” Vincent said with a smile.

“Morning Ven,” you said, “Are you all right? I heard something fall.”

“Yeah I’m fine,” Vincent answered, “that was a book that fell off of the table.”

“Oh okay,” you said, “I have no lessons today so I can stay over here ’till dinner.”

Vincent’s smile grew bigger. he stepped out of the way for you to enter. You looked around seeing the house in nothing, but a mess. you sighed.

He really let this place go, you thought.

“Have you had breakfast yet?” Vincent asked.

“Yes,” you answered.

“Okay,” said Vincent, “Do you want something to drink then?”

“I’m good for right now,” you answered.

Vincent nodded and made a place for you to sit on the couch. He sat down in the armchair across from you.

“How have you been?” you asked.

“A bit better,” Vincent answered.

You smiled.

“There’s something I wanted to talk to you about,” Vincent said.

You blushed.

“That would be?” you asked.

“Shinra is recruiting people to be a Turk,” Vincent answered, “I plan on joining them.”

You felt your heart sink. you looked down at your hands in your lap.

“Why?” you asked.

“I want to find out why father died,” Vincent answered.

There was silence for a moment.

“Just promise me you’ll live and come visit me when you can,” you said with tears falling down your cheeks.

“Oh Lucy,” said Vincent.

he got onto his knees in front of you. he whipped the tears away and pulled you toward his chest.

“I promise,” he said.

You started to cry again. He rocked you. All you wanted was for him to stay here with you. but you knew that this was important to him and you didn’t want to stop him. After all, you had fallen in love with him. you never told him though because you feared that he’ll reject you. days had past and Vincent was leaving for the Shinra HQ.

“You be safe dear,” your mom said to him.

“Fight hard,” said your dad.

“I will,” said Vincent.

You gave him one last hug.

“Remember your promise,” you whispered in his ear.

“I will always,” he whispered back.

you let go and waved at him. You put your hand on your chest.

Come back to me soon my dear Valentine, you thought as you watched him shrink in the distance.

It was a beautiful day today and you were out in the meadow walking around.

“Huh,” you said as you spotted black among the green.

You walked to it. It was your best friend, Vincent Valentine. The both of you were 8 years old. You look closely at his face and noticed that his eyes were closed. You grinned evilly. You started to reach for him to tickle his sides. Vincent’s eyes snapped open and he smiled at you.

“Oh no,” you said knowing full well what was next.

Vincent grabbed your arms and pulled you to the ground. he turned to be on his side looking at you then you both laughed.

“So how have you been, Lucy?” he asked you.

“Just bored out of my mind,” you answered, “and you?”

“Just the same,” he answered with a little laugh.

You two stared at the clouds for a moment.

“Daddy is going to give me math lessons,” you said.

“You mean you can learn something other than drawing?” Vincent acted surprised.

“Vinny!” you started to playfully hit him.

“I was kidding,” he said blocking your hits.

The two of you laughed and went back to watching the clouds.

“My father is supposed to be back tomorrow,” said Vincent.

“Make sure to give him a big hug from me,” you said.

“I well,” Vincent said, “oh look!”

Vincent pointed up at two clouds. one look like a male human with bat-like wings holding the hand of a female human with angel-like wings. you all of sudden put your self and Vincent in their places.

“Reminds you of us, doesn’t it?” Vincent asked.

“Yeah,” you answered.

“It’s getting late,” Vincent said, “we should start heading back.”

With good-bye hugs, the two of you went your separate ways.

You were done with your math lessons early and had decided to go and see Vincent and his father. After al, Mr. Valentine was suppose to be home by now. you knocked on the door of their house. No answer.

“Odd,” you said to your self.

You knocked again. Still nothing.

“Vinny it’s me, Lucy,” you said while knocking a third time.

The door open to show a puffy eyed frowning Vincent Valentine. You gasped.

“Vin what’s wrong?” you asked with concern.

“Father’s been killed,” he managed to say before he started to cry.

“On Vincent,” you said while pulling him to you, “I’m so sorry.”

While he was crying on your shoulder, you manage to get into the house and shut the door. You two sat on the couch.

“Shh,” you said while rubbing his back,”I’m here now, shh.”

Vincent had stopped crying after a while. For a few moments you both were silent.

“If you need anything just let me know, alright?” you asked.

You felt Vincent nod. You frowned a little.

I don’t trust him on his own right now, you thought to your self, he might be tempted to do something to him self.

“Would it be alright with you to come over and have dinner with us?” you asked him.

Again you felt Vincent nod.

“Vincent please say something,” you begged, “you’re worrying me.”

“You would look pretty with long hair,” he said.

“W-what?” the comment caught you off guard.

“You would look pretty with long hair,” he repeated.

You blushed.

“Th-thank you,” you stuttered.

He laughed a little at you. You smiled. The two of you stayed there for a few hours before heading back to your house. You told your parents about the fate of Vincent’s father. All three of you agreed that Vincent should be watched ’till you all were sure he wouldn’t try anything.

You sighed as you open the door to the hospital. One of the nurses at the front desk looked up at you as you approached her. The nurse noticed the hand print on your cheek.

“I’m here to see Ms. Sakura,” you said.

“She’s on the second floor,” said the nurse, “room 207.”

“Thanks,” you said before heading to the second floor.

You sighed again once you reached room 207. You opened the door to see Sakura wrapping Naruto’s arm. Naruto had a bump on his head.

No doubt he said something to anger Sakura like usual, you thought.

Naruto looked over at you. You gave him a small smile. Naruto returned it before looking back at the ceiling. Sakura looked over at you. She frowned upon seeing the hand print on your cheek.

“I take it the meeting with the clan head didn’t go well,” she said.

You shook your head.

“She wasn’t happy that I was injured,” you said, “branch members of the Caia clan have to be and stay in good condition for we are the main members’ blades and shields.”

Though they won’t teach us more jutsu to make us more useful, you thought.

Naruto clenched his hands.

“But yet the head hits you,” he said before looking over at you, “damaging you even farther. I promise you what I promise Neji. When I become Hokage, I’ll change the fate of the Caia Clan.”

You smiled.

“I wish you luck with Lady Yuna then,” you said, “she is a stubborn one and doesn’t listen to others most of the time.”

“Ha,” laughed Naruto, “she hasn’t met me yet.”

You smiled. You felt a bit better now. Sakura finished wrapping Naruto’s arm and came over to you. She checked the burn on your neck.

“It’s not as bad as Sasuke’s,” stated Sakura, “It’ll heal in a few days.”

“What exactly happened?” asked Naruto, “both you and Sasuke have the same burn on your necks, and I have burns all over me. Neji, also, had a lot of gashes on his back.”

You looked at Sakura. She gave you a warning look.

“We were on a mission together when we were attacked by rogue ninjas,” you lied, “you fought as best as you could before blacking out. Neji, Hinata, and Sakura came to rescue us. One of the Ninjas tried to attack Hinata, but Neji got in front of it.”

“And so that is what happened,” Naruto said, “sorry I wasn’t much help.”

You shook your head.

“Think nothing of it,” you said.

Sakura gave you a thankful smile before checking your cheek.

“Looks like it won’t bruise,” she said, “but it’ll sting a little if touched.”

You nodded. Sakura put ointment on the burn then wrapped it. She gave instructions on how to care for the burn and gave you a bottle of the ointment she used. You waved goodbye to Naruto and left the hospital. It was only a few minutes before it started raining. You looked up to the sky. You always liked the rain. So you started walking til you came to a bench. You started to watch the rain. A few minutes later an umbrella appeared and covered you. You look to see Neji.

“You’re going to catch a cold,” he said.

You shrugged. You, then, patted the spot next to you.

“Care to join me?” you asked.

Neji moved to set by you. He adjusted the umbrella to cover both of you.

“Naruto asked what happened to him and us while I was there,” you said, “he didn’t seem to remember what he did.”

“Sakura said that that is what happened last time he changed,” said Neji.

“She didn’t seem like she wanted me to tell him the truth,” you said.

“It’s probably for the best,” commented Neji, “he would have felt guilty about it.”

You nodded.

“I told him that we were attacked while on a mission,” you said.

Neji was the one who nodded this time.

“He overheard Sakura, and I talk about the mark on my cheek,” you said, “he promised me that he’ll change the fate of my clan. Much like he promised you.”

Neji smiled this time.

“He’ll keep that til his dying breath,” he commented.

“He is going to have fun talking to Lady Yuna then,” you said.

Neji chuckled. You two sat in silence for a moment till your stomach growled. You blushed. Neji looked at you and smiled.

“How about we go and get something to eat,” he said.

You nodded and you two got up and headed to where the restaurants were. It took a while before you two agreed on a place. It was a small, but it had good food. You two had a good time. Neji offered to walk you home since it was still raining. You agree to it. Lord Erruce, Lady Yuna’s younger brother, was standing on the porch. He looked up when he heard your laughter.

“Thanks, Neji,” you said, “but you didn’t have to pay for my meal.”

“It was the right thing to do at the time,” Neji stated.

“You mean the gentleman thing to do,” you corrected.

Neji smiled while you giggled. Neji’s smile faded when he noticed Lord Erruce watching you two. You followed Neji’s gaze and sighed. Lord Erruce was nice to you and the other branch members, but he sometimes doesn’t have a backbone when it came to his older sister.

“He seems to be waiting for you,” said Neji.

“Yeah,” you said, “thanks again for tonight.”

Neji nodded. You two went your separate ways. You went to Lord Erruce.

“You two going out?” Lord Erruce asked.

“No,” you answered, “we’re just friends.”

Lord Erruce nodded.

“I got some bad news for you,” he said.

“Can’t be any worse than how earlier today went,” you commented.

“Oh it can,” Lord Erruce said, “you are going with Lady Yuna tomorrow to a meeting at Fuuka Village. You will be her bodyguard.”

Your eyebrows twitched.

“Joy,” you said.

“There is a bit of good news,” said Lord Erruce, “Lady Hinata and Lord Neji will be joining you two.”

You sighed in relief.

“Thanks for informing me milord,” you said with a bow.

He nodded and went inside. You sighed again.

It’s going to be a long day tomorrow, you thought before heading inside yourself.

You went on to bed to wait for your doom that was tomorrow.

The growling got closer and closer, so did the red orbs. All of the sudden six red chakra tails popped out. You all tried to dodge but they wrapped around you and Sasuke.

“Oh no!” yelled Lee, “it’s got Arya and Sasuke!”

“That’s not an it Lee,” Neji said.

You looked down to see Naruto in his six tail form. Now you were truly scared.

“Naruto put them down,” Lee said, “they are not your enemies.”

Naruto roared sending chills down your spine. You closed your eyes. Naruto then ran off.

“Naruto!” Lee yelled and went after him.

Neji followed. You whimpered. You didn’t want to die. You looked toward Sasuke. He was trying to get out of Naruto’s hold only to get wrapped up even tighter. He looked at you and saw your frighten look.

‘It’ll be okay,’ he mouthed to you.

You shook your head as a tear fall down your cheek.

“Arya!” someone shouted from the left side of you all, “Sasuke!”

It was group 1. Sakura looked very worried at Naruto, but then looked determined. Naruto looked back and roared at them before trying to lose them as well. The tail around you started to get tighter. You coughed.

“Why did you get me?” you asked Naruto, “I did nothing to you…”

“In this state that doesn’t matter,” Sasuke stated, “all he cares about right now is killing and destroying….I’m sorry…”

You glared at Sasuke.

“Being sorry isn’t going to get us out of here!” you shouted only to have the tail wrap tighter around you.

You coughed more then Sasuke joined in as the tail around him did the same. You managed to look and see that your teammates and group 1 was far behind. They were just little specks. Naruto was too fast for them to keep up. You reached out to them. Tears fall down your cheek and on to Naruto’s tail. Naruto whimpered. He slowed down and jumped into a cave on a cliffside. He let you go and loosen his grip on Sasuke a bit. Sasuke took deep breaths. You looked up at Naruto. His ears were flat against his head. He looked very sorry at you.

“It’s fine,” you told him, “just calm down all right. I’m sure Sasuke will get punished for this.”

You glared up at him.

“And he’ll apologize too,” you said, “right?”

Sasuke nodded. Naruto dropped him to the ground. He didn’t change back when the others came to you. Neji helped you up. Sasuke mummer something, which caused Naruto to rage again.

“Sasuke just shut up!” you herd Sakura yell.

That stunned you a bit. Sakura was actually yelling at Sasuke. If she still was that little fangirl from way back then, that would have never happened. Hinata ran to Naruto and wrapped her arms around his midsection.

“Please calm down Naruto,” she pleaded with him.

Sia took a scroll and a paint brush out. Lee got into a fighting stance. One of Naruto’s claws raised. Your eyes widen.

“Lady Hinata!” yelled Neji as he ran to her.

The claw dug into Neji’s back. As he protected her. You frowned. Branch members, even if they were from different clans, were taught to also protect the main. It was a cruel life. Main’s life is in danger, branch protects main, main lives and branch die. You looked at the sky to see a flock of birds fly by.

When will I be free? You asked yourself.

You looked back when you herd Hinata shout. Neji was on his knees in a bit of pain, but he told her he was alright. She glanced back at Naruto. Naruto looked a bit sadden at what he had done. His form, then, slowly turned back to his real self. He passed out.

After a few hours, you all got to the gates of Konoha. Lee had volunteered to carry Naruto back on his back. Naruto hadn’t awoken yet. Sakura turned to Sasuke, you, and Neji

“I want all of you to follow Lee and me to the hospital,” she said.

“I have to report into the main of my own clan before I can do anything,” you stated.

Sakura nodded. You really wish you didn’t, but you had to. It was a rule in your clan. You swallowed as you walked past your clan’s gate. The other branch members looked at you with pity. Around your neck was a burn mark. You knocked on a door.

“Enter,” you heard the head say.

You walked in and bowed to the head.

“I have come back from my mission Lady Yuna,” you said.

She got up and looked you over. She narrowed her eyes at the burn mark. She slapped you across the face.

“You are no good if injured!” she yelled, “Be more careful next time you idiot!”

You gritted your teeth. You wanted to hit her or do something, but you couldn’t. That would have meant death for you. You bowed.

“I will try harder next time my lady,” you said before you left.

You headed to the hospital. On the way, there another bucket of water fell on top of you. You were soak and wet yet again. You took the bucket off to see that it was once again Kiba. He got ready to run only to see that you looked a bit soulless. You then continued on your way. Arkamaru whimpered. Kiba petted his head.

“I know boy,” he said, “something is wrong with her….”

You looked at the ground not looking at where you were going. You walked into Neji. He was let out after getting his back bandaged up. You stepped back and bowed.

“Sorry Neji,” you said.

He frowned and lifted your head. He saw the handprint from the slap.

“The head did this to you?” he asked.

You said nothing. You just looked away.

“Was Lady Yuna this angry with you getting injured?” he asked.

You sighed and looked at him.

“Something for you and the other branch Hyugas to remember,” you started, “you may think your life is hard in your clan, but I bet you that there is a clan out there that has it a lot worse.”

With that, you continued into the hospital. Neji frowned.

If only there was a way to change our fate… he thought.

“What!” both you and Hinata yelled.

This didn’t sound like Naruto at all.

“There is two search parties forming,” said Neji, “Lady Arya, if you don’t mind, could you be in one? Your clan’s ice-based jutsu might come in handy”

You nodded.

“Sure,” you said.

Though I wouldn’t know how good I would be, you thought, Naruto does have the power of the Kyuubi after all.

You three met the others at the gate. Group one was Shikamaru, Sakura, Hinata, and Sai. Group two was you, Sasuke, Neji, and Lee. You sighed and pray that you all were strong enough to bring Naruto back. Your greatest fear was Naruto in four tail or worse six tail form. That could mean bad news. You all started to jump through trees ’till group one split off to search somewhere else. You glanced at your teammates. Lee looks ready to go like always. Neji showed no emotion, while Sasuke looked a bit guilty for something. You looked back ahead of you.

Why would Naruto leave? You thought, did someone do something to him to make him leave? The last thing I did to him that was bad was when we all were little…Wait!

You quickly glanced back at Sasuke.

“Sasuke did you do something to Naruto?” you asked him.

Sasuke looked away.

“So I’ll take that a yes,” you said.

Neji shook his head.

“Figures,” he said bluntly.

Sasuke glared at him.

“What is that suppose to mean?” he asked.

“You always say things that make Naruto really angry,” started Neji, “But this time it seems you went too far. When will you just stop it? Probably never knew you.”

All of you stopped. Sasuke growled.

“I’ll stop when I feel like it!” he yelled.

“Then you should feel like it now!” Neji yelled back, “it is your fault that we’re looking for him in the first place. I’m starting to think that it was a mistake to let you back into the village.”

Lee got in between them.

“That is enough,” he said.

The three started arguing. You herd an inhuman growl next to you all. You looked and your eyes widen when you saw red glowing orbs staring at you. You swallowed.

“Guys,” he said.

They continued to argue.

“Guys!” you yelled this time.

They were still at it. You did a few hand signs and shoot an ice spar at them. They glared at you for a second before noticing the red orbs. It growled again and got closer. You swallowed.

This is not good! You yelled in your head, not good at all!

You were walking around Konoha, bored to death and in a very bad mood. The main branch wouldn’t hear you out when you told the head and elders how much it would you and the other members of the branch family to learn a few of the forbidden jutsus of your clan. You turn the corner when suddenly a bucket full of water fell on top of your head. Now you were soaked and wet. You took the bucket off of your head. You heard laughter from above. You looked up to see Kiba pointing and laughing at you.

“Kiba that wasn’t very nice.” You heard a girl say from your right.

You looked and Hinata coming toward you. You meet her a few times when both of your families had a met. You had to go to represent the branch family. After all, you were the strongest out of them.

“Are you all right?” she asked, “Oh dear you’re soaked and wet.”

“Yeah I’m all right,,” you answered, “but he won’t be for long.”

Kiba eyes widen.

“Oh damn,” said Kiba and raced off.

“Forget him,” said Hinata, “Come let’s get you some dry clothes before you catch a cold.”

You followed Hinata to the Hyuga complex. You looked around the place. You never could grasp how big the place was. It was bigger than your own clan’s. You followed Hinata to her room. You sat on her bed while she looked in her closet for clothes that would fit you. Then there was a knock on the door. Hinata stopped what she was doing.

“Come in,” she said.

The door open to reveal a man with long brown hair with pale lavender eyes like Hinata’s. He looked at you. You nodded at him.

If I remember correctly, you thought, He’s Neji Hyuga. He’s a branch member as well.

“Yes,” said Hinata.

He looked over at Hinata.

“When you are done with Lady Arya come downstairs,” he said, “I need to tell you something very important.”

It seems he remembered you too. Hinata went back to looking for you some dry clothes once Neji left.

“Not much of a talker is he?” you asked.

Hinata smiled a bit.

“No, he isn’t,” she answered, “Oh here some that I think will fit you.”

She handed you a Light purple long sleeve shirt and black pants. You took them and went to change in them. You got back into the room.

“I thought they would,” said Hinata while inspecting you, “I don’t mind if you keep them. They were too small for me to begin with.”

“Oh thanks, Lady Hinata,” you said with a bow.

You and Hinata went downstairs to find that Neji was sitting on the couch looking out the window.

“Neji,” said Hinata.

Neji turned around and stood up. He walked over to you and Hinata.

“What is it you wanted to tell me?” Hinata asked.

“It’s Naruto,” said Neji, “He has gone missing.”

Both yours and Hinata’s mouth dropped. You knew of Naruto, not because he saved the village, but because you meet him at school. You thought he was a bit weird, but still a good guy. Who in the world or more like what happened to him though?

The bell rang at the door. You looked over at Axel. With him was a boy with spiky blonde hair.

“Hey Siran,” Axel greeted, “how is Saix?”

“A handful,” you answered, “who is this?”

“Oh this is Roxas,” answered Axel before he sighed, “he is the new guy I mentioned yesterday.”

You came over and went down to Roxas’ level.

“Hello Roxas,” you greeted, “my name is Siran. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Si…ran…” Roxas repeated.

You gave him a small smile.

“He is the main reason I came here,” said Axel, “I was wondering if there was anything you could do for him?”

“She can’t do anything to help mental issues,” answered Saix.

You looked over to see him leaning on the door frame of the doorway that led to the house part. It looked like Saix had a bit of an issue with standing on his own. You sighed and facepalmed.

“I see what you mean now,” commented Axel.

Saix raised an eyebrow.

“You are supposed to be in bed,” you said through gritted teeth.

“Si…ran…mad…” Roxas commented.

“You can say that again,” said Axel while rubbing Roxas’ head.

Saix narrowed his eyes at the two nobodies. You sighed again.

“Back on subject,” you said, “I’m afraid Saix is right. I can’t help Roxas mentally. If he had a physical injury, then I could be of some help. You’ll have to go to a shrink…which I’m not sure if there is one in Twilight Town.”

Alex slouched and pouted.

“I was afraid you would say that,” he said.

Axel sighed.

“I guess we’ll leave you two alone then,” he said.

“If you see that superior of yours let him know that it’ll be a day longer for Saix to go back,” you said before glaring at said Saix, “if he keeps getting out of bed.”

Axel laughed.

“I’ll let him know,” he said, “see you two tomorrow.”

You waved as Axel took Roxas’ arm and dragged him to the door.

“Bye…Si…ran…” said Roxas before he and Axel went out of the door.

You crossed your arms.

“Explanation,” you said before looking at Saix, “now.”

Saix was about to answer when his stomach growled. You swore you saw his cheeks turn a little red, but you were unsure due to Saix’s face showing no emotion.

“…I said to eat all of your breakfast,” you stated.

Saix still showed no emotion. Your eyebrow twitched. You took Saix’s hand and took him to the kitchen.

“Sit, and I’ll try to find something,” you said.

Saix did as you ore red while you looked through the refrigerator.

Let’s see, you thought, leftover stew, ham, cheese, and leftover meatloaf.

You sighed and looked over at Saix who was just watching you.

“Any preference on food?” you asked.

Saix shook his head. You looked back in the refrigerator. You grabbed the leftover stew from last night; you put it in the microwave to heat it up. You grabbed a spoon and went back to the microwave once the stew was done. You put both in front of Saix.

“Careful, it’s still a bit hot,” you warned.

“Or I’ll be here another day due to you treating my burnt tongue,” commented Saix.

You blinked.

“Were you trying to make a joke?” you asked.

Just then the bell over the store’s door rang. Saix simply shrugged. You shook your head and then went to the shore part. You saw a mother and child. The child seemed to have fallen recently going by the many scrapes on her elbows and knees.

“My what happen?” you asked.

Saix looked up from his stew when he heard a child laughing. He looked back at the stew. Saix sighed. He got up and slowly went to the doorway leading to the store part. He watched as you put bandages on the little girl’s knee.

“Now I want you to promise me that you will not try to skip steps again,” you said, “okay?”

Watching you interact with the girl brought back a few memories to Saix. The mother picked up her child. She, then, paid and thanked you before leaving. You sighed before feeling eyes on you. You looked to the doorway to see Saix. There was just a pinch of sorrow in his eyes. Saix headed back to the kitchen. You soon follow.

“Saix?” you asked.

“Hm?” he answered.

“Are you okay?” you asked.

“I’m the same as I was this morning,” Saix answered.

“It’s just,” you started, “you looked a bit sad a few seconds ago.”

“Nobodies don’t have a heart,” said Saix, “therefore we can not feel.”

You made a face.

“What is a nobody exactly?” you asked, “and what exactly is this organization XIII? Oh and-”

Saix held up his hand to silence you.

“It is a very long explanation,” he answered.

“Well we do have the rest of today,” you stated, “and probably all of tomorrow too.”

Saix sighed.

This is going to be one long afternoon, he thought.
