Dusk had gotten better, though he was told not to use any spells for two more days. He was walking his halls and would stop now and then to speak with the wounded. He was that type of ruler that are there fir their people unlike Dusk’s parents. The older generation, though they dislike his choice of allies, liked it as well.

“Looks like someone is up and around,” stated Rarity.

Twilight looked. She smiled seeing how caring Dusk was to his people. She then frowned when she remembered that the force field she put up wasn’t going to last long.

“Something must be up.” Twilight caught the tail end of whatever Applejack said.

“Huh?” Twilight asked.

“One of the unicorns,” answered Rainbow Dash, “I think her name was Twisted Magic, just came racing by toward Prince Dusk.”

Twilight looked. There was a serious and concern look on his face.

“Come,” said Twilight, “let’s see if it’s something we can help with.”

The rest of the main six nodded.

“I’m not sure if the rest are still working or not,” they herd as they approached, “Searing Fear is checking right now.”

Dusk nodded.

“Let’s wait and see how many need to be replaced,” he said, “hopefully the barrier will last that long.”

Twisted nodded.

“What’s going on?” asked Applejack.

Dusk and Twisted looked at the main six.

“We have crystal like gems that, with a bit of magic, puts out a barrier that lasts forever,” answered Dusk, “but it seems that a few, if not more, have gone out. That is probably why the changeling are attacking.”

“Do you know where to get more of them?” asked Dash.

“There is a cave that is far from here that has them,” answered Twisted, “but we have to dig them up due to them being deep under ground. That alone will take days to do let alone the gem eating dogs that live there.”

“Days?” asked Pinky Pie, “Don’t you have a spell, like Rarity here, that can find them?”

Twisted blinked and looked at Rarity who was blushing and looking away.

“You have a spell that can do that?” Twisted asked.

Rarity nodded.

“Then will you help us in finding replacement gems?” Twisted asked.

Rarity nodded again.

“I will try my best,” she said.

Just then a black unicorn with a black and red mane and tail and golden eyes came up. On closer inspection, Twilight could tell that his eyes where slitted.

“What is the damage Searing Fear?” asked Dusk.

‘There is five that have lost their power,” Searing Fear answered, “three on the left side while two on the right side. All others are going strong with no sign of failing.”

Dusk nodded.

“Good,” he said before turning to Rarity, “Hopefully that won’t be too much for you.”

“Wait,” said Twilight, “I’m going too.”

“Twilight I don’t th-” started Dusk.

“I know the spell and can cast it to,” interrupted Twilight, “plus it’ll be faster and easier on Rarity.”

“Twilight please do-” Dusk started to argue.

“Please let me do this Dusk,” said Twilight.

There was doubt in Dusk’s eyes.

“Oh please don’t start fighting,” said Flutter Shy.

Dusk sighed in defeat.

“Red Star and Lightning Bolt come here please,” he called out.

Twilight and Rarity looked at each other, unsure of what Dusk was planning. A red female unicorn with curly blond mane and tail came up and bowed. She had green eyes. Then a blue male Pegasus with blond with two red streaks in his mane and tail came and bowed as well. He had blue eyes.

“I want the two of you to go and help and protect Princess Twilight and Lady Rarity,” commanded Dusk.

Red Star and Lightning Bolt bowed again.

“Yes your majesty,” they said.

Red Star gave a quick loving gaze to her husband, Searing Fear, before the four headed out of the palace.

“My prince,” started Twin Sparks coming to Dusk, “I am sensing signs of fading with the barrier.”

“Now what do we do?” asked Searing Fear.

“Princess Twilight is the only one that can cast the spell still,” said Twisted.

“There is him,” Dusk said simply.

Sparks’ eyes widen.

“But my prince,” he started, “Prince Bloody Chaos will never step a hoof in this kingdom even if you threaten Celestia’s life.”

Dusk gave him a look that made Sparks instantly back down.

“I know of one thing that will make him come back,” Dusk said heading out of the palace.

“At least take a few-” Sparks started.

“No,” interrupted Dusk, “I can get there a lot faster by my self.”

With that he took off. Sparks shook his head and went back in.

Necromorph watched as Dusk flew off. Few of his changelings got ready to follow. Necromorph raised a hoof.

“Do not follow,” he ordered, “I have other plans for him.”

The changeling prince looked toward the palace and it’s city.

“Besides,” he began, “our real mission is about to be reopen to us.”

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

“The cave isn’t that far now,” said Red Star.

Her, Rarity, Twilight, and Lightning Bolt have galloped what seem to be miles away to a cave that held what they were looking for. The entrance was in a mountain and it was huge. Rarity’s eyes sparkled as she noticed the many colored crystals that lined the walls and roof.

“This is crystal cave my ladies,” said Bolt.

“What does the crystal that we are looking for look like?” asked Twilight.

“It’s the same size of your hoof,” started Star, “it’s in a kind of oval shape, but has points. It’s, also, a golden color.”

“That sounds pretty,” commented Rarity.

“Yes,” agreed Star, “we call it Citrine. It’s very hard to find due to it being deep underground.”

“Well with my spell,” started Rarity proudly, “no matter how deep it is, I’ll find it.”

Star and Bolt smiled.

“Good,” said Bolt, “because I hate to see Alamoria in those damn changelings hooves.”

With that said both Twilight’s and Rarity’s horns glowed. They lowered their heads to the ground and began their search for the elusive Citrine.

It only took Dusk an hour to get to Equestria’s castle. Were he with guards it would have taken him three hours. The guards at the front gate instantly let Dusk through. It wasn’t every day that the prince of Alamoria comes, much less alone. He looked at one guard next to the stairs.

“I’m looking for prince Chaos,” said Dusk, “where might I find him?”

“He would be in the study with Lady Lunar Night,” the guard answered, “follow me.”

It wasn’t rare to hear that Chaos was off some where else while Celestia was dealing with other ponies. Chaos just didn’t like crowds. That’s why, most of the time, if he is to show up at some big party he is at the far side away from others. And if he were to stay by Celestia’s side he would be seen fidgeting or looking up at a clock. Dusk sighed.

I pray he will at least listen to me, he thought.

Chaos was reading a book in the study. His sister, Lunar Night, was sitting on the floor, drawing something. There was a knock on the door.

“Yes?” Chaos asked looking up from his book.

The door open to revile a guard. The guard bowed.

“The prince of Alamoria requests an audience with you my prince,” he answered.

Chaos’ ears flatten causing Night to sigh. Chaos wanted to denied seeing Prince Dusk, but he knew that if Celestia caught wind of it, she would rip him a new one. Chaos sighed.

“Let him in,” he said.

The guard bowed and stepped a side. Dusk came into the room before the door was shut.

“What is it?” asked Chaos.

Dusk winced at the bitterness tune in Chaos’ voice.

“I came seeking your aid,” he answered, “Alamoria is-”

“I’m not going back there,” interrupted Chaos.

“Brother let him speak,” said Night, “continue please Prince Dusk.”

“Alamoria is being attacked by changelings,” Dusk started over again, “Twilight Sparkle has used my barrier spell to keep them at bay for a bit. But it is failing now.”

“Then why don’t you do it?” asked Chaos.

“Because I’m still recovering from a magic induced fever,” answered Dusk.

“Oh,” was all Chaos said.

“You are the only other unicorn I know of that is strong enough to cast the spell,” said Dusk.

“I’m not going back there,” Chaos repeated him self from earlier.

“Brother please,” begged Night.

“No,” said Chaos.

“They didn’t abandon you,” said Dusk.

“What?” asked Chaos.

“Your parents,” answered Dusk, “they didn’t abandon you. That was a lie that my mother told you to lower your guard and to trust her.”

Chaos was now confused.

“What you are saying is that Queen Luciana MoonFlame and King Sharik Solarus kidnapped me?” he asked.

Dusk nodded.

“They wanted you because of your power and the spell you knew,” he said.

“Spell?” asked Night.

“Your brother was the one who created the forbidden spell to move the sun and moon,” answered Dusk.

Night gasped and looked at her brother. There was a guilty look on Chaos’ face.

“Please don’t tell Celestia and Luna,” he said.

Night nodded. She understood this. If the sisters found out that it was Chaos that created the spell then all hell would brake loose. Chaos would no longer be trusted which will force him to run away again. Chaos sighed in defeat.

“All right,” he said, “I’ll go, but only this once.”

Dusk smiled.

“I can port us straight tot he throne room,” said Night.

Dusk and Chaos nodded. Night’s horn glowed and then they were ported to Alamoria. The next they herd was ponies screaming.

“Oh no!” Dusk shouted.

He galloped to be outside of the palace. There were changeling every where.

“My prince,” he herd Sapphire Rush say, “you came back just in time. The barrier faded away just a few minuets ago.”

“Just a few minuets ago!?” exclaimed Dusk, “then why are there so many?”

Sapphire was about to answer when she herd some pony call for help. She looked and sighed. It was the noble Reaverstein . He was a unicorn, yes, but he rather not use magic claiming that it would dirty him up. He was all ways so hard on Dusk too. He was a aqua green color with a black mane tail that had silver tips. He usually wears a hat. He was being attacked. Sapphire had half a mind to leave him there, but thought other wise. Sapphire came swooping down and then kicking the changeling into a wall. Reaverstein sighed in relief.

“Well it seems the Pegasi know how to do their jobs at least,” he stated.

“Just go and find a safe place to hide will you,” Sapphire said before flying off.

Reaverstein tsked and ran off to hide. Dusk looked all around him. He gritted his teeth and started to prepare a spell.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” said some pony.

Dusk looked to Chaos and Night right behind him.

“You might collapse with a fever again,” Chaos sighed.

“But I can’t just stand here and do nothing!” shouted Dusk.

“You can do something,” said Chaos, “you can give me the knowledge for your barrier spell.”

Dusk sighed and nodded. His and Chaos’ eyes glowed orange. Chaos’ ears flatten after the spell was given.

“This is it?” he asked sounding a bit disappointed.

Dusk nodded. He was a bit confused though. Chaos sighed and started to cast the spell. His horn flashed causing a huge force to push all changelings out of Alamoria. A small earthquake shook the earth as a red force field was created. Dusk’s eyes widen by all of this. His spell wasn’t suppose to do all of that.

“I hope you don’t mind,” said Chaos looking at Dusk, “but I added a few modifications to your spell.”

Dusk sweat dropped.

“Uh yes,” he said, “that’s fine.”

No wonder my parents took him, Dusk thought, though he is weaker to Celestia, he still is very powerful.

“Bloody Chaos?” some pony asked in disbelief.

Night looked as Chaos lowered his head with his ears flatten. His sister smiled and said the one word that he really hate to hear.

“Daddy!” Night shouted.

Searing Flame was staring at his son, Bloody Chaos, in disbelief. Fear stepped forward.

“That is you right?” he asked.

“Of coarse it is daddy,” answered Night, “I found him like I promised.”

Fear smiled and nuzzled his daughter. He, then, frowned while looking back at his son. Chaos wouldn’t even look at him. Dusk sighed and lowered his head to be at the same level to Chaos’ ear.

“You owe him some father and son time,” Dusk said, “after all he and your mother both blame them selves, in quotations, for you running away from home.”

Chaos looked at him in confusion.

“But I didn’t run away from them,” he said in alarm, “I mean I did run away from Alamoria, but that was to get away from the king and queen.”

“That’s just what my father told them,” said Dusk.

Chaos’ ears flatten again before looking a head. He sighed and turn to his father. There was a small smile on Fear’s face.

“Hello father,” Chaos said.

Fear hugged his son tightly.

“Mother would be most happy to see you again after all these years,” he said letting Chaos go.

“Where is momma anyways?” asked Night.

“She is with Lady Rarity and Princess Twilight getting some more Citrine to replace the ones that went out,” answered Fear.

Chaos raised a brow for the use of princess for Twilight, but he choose not to ask. Dusk frowned upon hearing Twilight’s name. He looked at the sky to see that the sun was just a few hours away from setting.

It wouldn’t take this long to find those gems…He thought.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Twilight collapsed for what seem like the 5th time. Just one more, they just needed one more Citrine and then they could leave. Bolt came up to her.

“Princess?” he asked.

“Just need to rest for a few seconds,” Twilight answered.

Star frowned and looked around. Earlier she had sense movement with in some of the tunnels.

“Ah,” said Rarity, “I found one.”

“Yay,” said Twilight weakly.

Star came over and dug it up. She placed the Citrine in one bag and the other gems in another bag. Those gems were going to use to make jewelry for the earth ponies and magical amulets for the unicorns.

“All right,” said Bolt helping Twilight up, “the exit is this way.”

Just then the ground shook.

“What the?” wondered Star.

Stalactites started to fall. One was heading down toward Rarity. Bolt dashed to her and pushed her out of the way in time.

“Thanks,” said Rarity.

“No problem my lady,” Bolt said.

Just then the entrance to the tunnel caved in. every pony coughed. The smoke cleared as soon as the ground stopped shaking.

“Oh no,” said Rarity, “the way out is…”

“Don’t worry Lady Rarity,” said Star, “I’ll find us another way out.”

Her horn glowed a lovely red and then she started to walk one direction with the others following her.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Necromorph growled looking back at the tunnel they just finished hours ago. They were going to use it to sneak under the wall, but not any more. Thanks to that earthquake, it collapsed. Only he and two hoof full of changelings made it through. Speaking of changelings, one of the two he sent to check out the city had come back.

“Prince Necromorph,” it said, “my analysis of the wall is complete. Six of the Citrine crystals have faded in power while the other forty four are still going strong.”

“That explains all of the barriers they keep putting up,” Necromorph said.

The second changeling came back.

“Prince,” this one said, “Prince Dusk is outside the palace. But I have only counted four of the six elements there. Magic and Generosity are gone.”

“If I remember correctly,” said Necromorph, “Generosity had a gem finding spell that she taught magic. You three, go to crystal cave find these two. Come back to me once you do. Remain hidden.”

These changelings bowed and flow off.

“Prince,” said the second one.

‘What?” asked Necromorph.

“The prince of Equestria is there as well,” the changeling answered with fear in it’s eyes.

Necromorph felt his blood run cold. He knew a lot about Bloody Chaos. More then any pony did and should know. Chaos had three spells that he never would hesitate to use. One was to tore some pony a part. Another would turn them inside out and then port them back to where they came from just to cause panic and chaos. Then the last spell would make some pony explode. These spells gave meaning to his name, Bloody Chaos. Necromorph swallowed.

“Let’s just stay away from the city for a while,” he said.

The changelings quickly agreed with him.

Dusk and Sapphire made it back to Canterlot in time. Dusk went to the cafe that Cadance said they’ll meet at as Sapphire went exploring around the city. Cadance was talking to Shining Armor when she spotted Dusk. She smiled as Shining looked.

“I’m not too late am I?” Dusk asked.

“No,” answered Cadance, “you’re just in time.”

Dusk smiled and took his seat. They ordered their food.

“How are you enjoying your stay here?” Cadance asked.

“I like it here,” answered Dusk, “but I do enjoy Alamoria a bit more.”

Cadance nodded.

“I understand,” she said, “I enjoy the crystal kingdom a bit more.”

“I actually would like to learn more about your kingdom, Prince Dusk,” said Shining.

As Dusk and Shining talked, Cadance smiled grew. It started to sound like two good friends were talking to each. Then the subject turned to a possible alliance between two kingdoms.

Sapphire hummed as she looked at the different stores. She didn’t have her armor on this time. She could have fit in if she wasn’t taller then the other ponies. Her ears stood up on alert when she herd someone all her name. She looked. There was an amethyst purple Pegasus with lavender eyes, white puffy mane/tail, and white tipped wings. She was with an Alamorian armored purple unicorn with styled mint green mane/tail and purple eyes. Sapphire’s own eyes widen.

“Twisted Magic?” she wondered, “what is she doing here?”

The Pegasus spotted her and flew over.

“Are you Sapphire Rush?” she asked.

Sapphire nodded.

“Twisted she’s over here,” the Pegasus said.

Twisted Magic ran over.

“Thank you Amethyst Pearl,” she said.

Pearl nodded.

“If you need anymore help in the city just call,” with that Peal flew off.

“What’s going on?” asked Sapphire.

“Alamoria is in danger,” Twisted answered.

Sapphire’s eyes widen again.

“Tell me everything,” she said.

Dusk nodded.

“I’m sure our earth ponies would learn a lot from yours,” he said.

They were listing off benefits that each kingdom would have from each other. Sapphire cleared her throat. Dusk, Cadance, and Shining looked. Dusk blinked when he noticed Twisted Magic.

“Forgive us for interrupting,” Sapphire said, “but there’s a problem back at Alamoria.”

Dusk was now standing.

“What kind of trouble?” he asked.

“A whole lot of changelings are on the move,” answered Twisted, “and they’re headed to Alamoria.”

Dusk frowned.

“I’m sorry,” Cadance apologized, “that might be our fault-”

“No,” said Dusk, “there ones have always been there. We’ll need to leave at once.”

“Is there anything we can do to help?” Shining asked.

Dusk smiled.

“One thing you should remember about Alamoria my friend,” Dusk started, “we tend to solve things on our own first. Don’t worry though. If we need your help I’ll send word to you at once.”

Shining nodded.

“Please be safe,” said Cadance.

Dusk nodded, himself, before he left with the over two.

Days past and the Changelings invaded the kingdom. Everypony was on their hooves. Two Changelings charged at Dusk only to be meet with fire. Dusk panted. He looked to the side as one more tried to come at him. Dusk froze it. Dusk sat down on the ground and panted. He was a bit flushed. He looked up. He started to see double. Dusk shook his head.

“They’re retreating,” yelled one of the unicorns from the mystic guard.

“Won’t last long,” commented Sapphire.

There was a thud. Sapphire looked over. Dusk had passed out. Her, her brother Twin Sparks, and Twisted ran over to him. Sparks’ horn glowed as he checked on Dusk.

“He has a magic induced fever,” Sparks said, “’ ’till that fever is gone, he shouldn’t use magic.”

Sapphire nodded and ordered some of the guard to carry Dusk back to his chambers.

“With Prince Dusk out how are we going to get a barrier up?” asked Twisted.

“We need to get a powerful unicorn to learn the spell from the prince,” answered Sparks.

Twisted and Sapphire looked at him.

“Oh no,” he said, “I can’t learn it because I’m not strong enough. Maybe that white one…um…Shining Shield?”

“Shining Armor,” corrected his sister.

“Yeah him,” Sparks said glaring at Sapphire, “he might be strong enough to learn it.”

Sapphire nodded. She stretched her wings out.

“I’ll go get him,” she said before flying off.

Sapphire made it to the Crystal Kingdom in a few hours. She flew around the city, seeing if Shining Armor was about, before she headed inside. The guards stopped her at the gate.

“Halt,” said one of them, “the castle is closed to visitors.”

“I am a messenger from the Kingdom of Alamoria,” said Sapphire, “I have an important message for Prince Shining Armor.”

The guard repeated what he just said.

“Look ether I see Shining Armor right now,” started Sapphire, “or I’ll make sure your body is never found.”

The guard swallowed and let her through. One thing about Alamorian ponies is that if they want somepony gone then they’ll be gone. Sapphire rushed to the throne room. She slammed the doors open. Cadance jumped with Shining was at the ready. He relaxed once he saw that it was just Sapphire. Cadance and Shining gave concern looks when they noticed that Sapphire was panting.

“Sapphire Rush,” Cadance said, “Are you okay? What happening at Alamoria?”

Sapphire shook her head.

“We’re in trouble,” she said, “we need your help. Especially yours Prince Shining. Prince Dusk had fainted due to a magic induced fever, his barrier spell can keep the Changeling out, but none of our unicorns are strong enough to cast it.”

“So you think I can?” asked Shining.

Sapphire nodded.

“It wouldn’t hurt to try,” encouraged Cadance.

Shining nodded in agreement. Though he hadn’t known Dusk long, Shining saw him as a good friend and if something happens to Dusk, Shining had a feeling that Twilight would greatly sadden.

“Good,” Sapphire said before looking at Cadance, “can you fly fast?”

“Um I think I can,” Cadance answered.

“Can you carry heavy things?” Sapphire asked.

“Um I don’t think I can,” Cadance answered.

“Well then,” said Sapphire, “I’m sorry.”

“Huh?” Shining and Cadance asked.

Sapphire picked Shining up and stretched her wings. As part of training the Alamorian Pegasus had to practice carrying heavy things, like crates and other ponies. Shining’s eyes widen, Sapphire told him to hold on tight. Her and Cadance flew off with a screaming Shining Armor.

They got there in an hour or so. They raced to Dusk’s chambers. Sapphire open the door for them. Dusk was laying on his bed asleep while two unicorns monitor him. They bow their heads to Cadance and Shining.

“Can we wake him?” Sapphire asked.

One unicorn nodded. Sapphire came up to Dusk.

“Prince Dusk,” she said, “we need you to wake up for a little bit.”

Dusk’s eyes slowly open. They looked soulless.

“We need you to give Prince Shining Armor the barrier spell you know,” Sapphire said.

Dusk nodded. His horn grew orange and he touched Shining’s head with the tip. Shining’s eyes turned orange. He gasped and fall backwards. Cadance ran to him to see if he was alright.

“Shining?” Cadance asked.

“So many spells,” said Shining.

Sapphire’s eyes widen and the two unicorns looked at each other worryingly.

“Please tell me he didn’t give you the knowledge for all of his spells…” said Sapphire.

Shining looked up at her.

“He did,” he stated.

The unicorns backed with their heads down low in shame. Sapphire had the same look on her face.

“There’s one spell you should forget immediately,” she said.

“I assume it’s this sun and moon control spell?” Shining asked.

Cadance eyes widen.

“What!?” she exclaimed, “how does he know such a spell?”

Then it dawn on her.

“The sky war,” she said.

“What’s that?” Shining asked.

Cadance shook her head.

“It’s nothing,” she said, “just forget that spell.”

Shining nodded. He got up with a smile.

“One thing is for sure,” he said, “I have some new respect for you prince. He’s very powerful. You should be very proud.”

Sapphire and the unicorns smiled.

“Oh we are,” said one of the unicorns.

They stepped out of the castle. Shining’s horn glowed and the barrier started to show..

“You’re doing it Shining,” encouraged Cadance.

Shining would smile, but he was gritting his teeth,

“The spell…” he started, “it’s too…I can’t…Arg!”

Shining dropped to the ground and panted. Cadance nuzzled him. The barrier faded away.

“I’m sorry,” Shining apologize.

Sapphire shook her head.

“Don’t be,” she said.

“Now what do we do/” asked Sparks, “without that barrier we’re done for.”

Everypony was silent.

“Twili!” shouted Shining.

“Of coarse,” said Cadance, “she would have the power to cast it.”

Sapphire nodded. She stretched out her wings. Then her face got a horrified look on it. The Changelings where coming back. Sapphire looked toward her brother.

“Twilight Sparkles lives in a place known as Ponyville,” she told him, “she lives in a library that is in a big tree. If she’s not there ask around. Wouldn’t hurt to have of the elements of harmony to come too. Go!”

“Oh sure send a unicorn to do a Pegasus’ job,” said Sparks.

“Now Sparks!” shouted Sapphire.

With a sigh Sparks ported himself.

“Wouldn’t hurt to get some help for them too,” suggested Shining.

Cadance nodded and flew up.

“You two!” Sapphire shouted to two of her Pegasus, “go with her and protect her.”

They nodded and flew off with her.

Sparks appeared outside of Ponyville. He walked in and looked around. Some ponies would stop to say hello to him.

“Hello!” shouted Pinkie Pie as she popped up in front of him.

Sparks jumped back.

“Um…hi,” he said.

“I never seen you around here before,” said Pinkie Pie, “I’m Pinkie Pie! Oh oh you’re wearing the same armor as Sapphire! Are you from Alamoria too?”

Sparks truly didn’t know what to make with this pink earth pony. She was bouncing around him as she waited for an answer.

“Um yes,” he said, “I’m looking for Twilight Sparkle.”

“I know where she is,” said Pinkie, “follow me!”

She bounced away. Sparks rolled his eyes.

Note to self, he thought, kill Sapphire.

After a few minuets of walking and the loss of a few brain cells they got to the library. Pinkie open the door. All the rest of the main six was there. They stared at Sparks.

“Twilight,” said Pinkie, “this pony was looking for you. I asked him why, but he didn’t say. I think he’s-”

“Pinkie let the man speak for himself will ya!” shouted Applejack.

Pinkie nodded.

“Thank you,” Sparks said before clearing his throat, “I’m Twin Sparks captain of Alamoria’s mystic guard. I was to retrieve you and the elements of harmony. We are in need of your help.”

Twilight nodded and looked worried.

“Alright,” she said, “we’ll try to get there as fast as we can.”

“No need,” said Sparks, “I can port us.”

“Okay,” said Twilight after getting the box with the elements in it, “ready girls?”

The rest nodded and they were ported. They all gasped. There was fighting all around them and it was with Changelings.

“Oh my,” commented Rarity.

“This way,” said Sparks.

They followed him into the palace. Wounded lined the halls as the Alamorian earth ponies tended them. Mares and Foals were down the hall a bit farther. Twisted came up to Sparks and the six.

“There’s more coming,” she told Sparks.

she looked at the six.

“The five of you come with me,” Twisted said, “Twilight follow Rose Bud. She’ll fill you in.”

They nodded as Rose Bud came up. She bowed to Twilight as one would do to a princess. This confused Twilight a little.

“Please follow me Lady Twilight,” Rose said before walking away, “We need you to cast Prince Dusk’s barrier spell. You brother knows it, but he is busy fighting. Therefore you’ll have to get it from Dusk. He is in his chambers resting.”

Twilight looked even more worried.

“Is he okay?” she asked.

Rose smiled.

“Yeah,” she answered, “it’s just a magic induced fever.”

Twilight sighed in relief and then blushed when she realize what she was doing. Rose open the door for Twilight. The two unicorns in there bowed and left her and Dusk alone. Twilight looked over at Dusk. He was asleep. Twilight smiled.

He looks so peaceful, she thought.

She nuzzled his head.

“Dusk,” she said, “Dusk it’s time to wake up.”

Dusk slowly open his eyes. They were a bit more clearer then before, but still looked hollow. He smiled when he saw Twilight. She smiled back.

“If this is a dream please don’t wake me up,” Dusk said.

Twilight blushed and cleared her throat.

“It’s..not..” she said, “I need your knowledge of your barrier spell. Shining Armor tried casting it, but it failed.”

Dusk nodded.

“I’ll try,” he said, “but it’s a bit hard to concentrate with this fever.”

Twilight smiled sweetly.

“Try your best for me,” she said.

Dusk blushed a bit and did the same thing that he did to Shining. Twilight’s eyes glowed orange. She, then, passed out. Dusk gasped. He got up and went over. He nuzzled her head, but she didn’t wake up.” Dusk laid beside her and put his wing over her. That’s how Twin Sparks found them hours later. Dusk looked over at him.

“She passed out,” Dusk said, “I’m afraid I did it again.”

Sparks eyes widen. Dusk just gave Twilight the knowledge of all his spells just like he did to Shining.

“I’m sorry,” Dusk apologized.

“No, my Prince,” Sparks said, “We understand. Regardless if she knows, we still need her to cast that spell.”

Dusk nodded. He bent down and kissed Twilight’s forehead.

“Sweet heart,” he said, “you need to wake up now.”

Twilight slowly woke up. She looked up at Dusk. Dusk started to change from blond and white to silver and black as the sun started to set. She blinked.

“Beautiful…” she commented.

“Lady Twilight,” said Sparks.

She jumped when she herd Sparks’ voice and saw the small smile on his face. She blushed.

“Y-Yes?” Twilight asked.

“We need that spell caste,” Sparks answered, “we can’t hold them off for much longer. Even with the help from the Crystal Kingdom.”

“Uh right,” Twilight said as she headed out of the room with Sparks, “not a word about that to anypony okay?”

“Yes,” answered Sparks before he grinned, “my princess.”

Twilight’s face went even more red. After a bit the main six got into potion. They had on their necklaces and crown. With the other five’s help Twilight cast the spell. The barrier went up and the Changelings were caste out. Everypony cheered as the six panted.

“Well that was hard to do,” commented Rainbow Dash.

“Yeah,” agreed Applejack.

Twilight looked up at the barrier.

“It’s not going to last long,” she started, “it’s a bit too powerful for me too.”

All those spells he gave me were, she thought, including this sun and moon control spell…wait!

Her eyes widen as she looked at the palace doors. In the end of the book, she showed Dusk days a go, was a foal. Half of it was white and blond while the other half was silver and black. The foal was sealing the couple away.

He’s that foal! She yelled in her head.

A huge male Changeling looked at Alamoria from the distance. He had Sephiroth like hire, a crown, armor, and was the same color as Queen Chrysalis. A smaller Changeling bowed.

“Prince Necromorph ,” it said, “they managed to put a barrier up.”

“So I see,” said Necromorph , “…it won’t last long.”

And when it goes down, that’s when my plan will be set in motion, Necromorph thought with a grin on his face.

It looks like Twilight figured out one of Dusk’s secrets. Oh dear. Also who wants to see a pissed off Dusk next chapter? [raises hand]

A few notes:

Sometimes when a person is really sick they tend to do and/or say things they don’t mean too. XD that’s what happen to Dusk.

Also the magic induce fever is something I made up. It’s when a unicorn (or alicorn) goes far beyond their magic limit.

Okay pointing this out. This fic was published / started on February 3, 2013 (on DA it’s the 1st) and the movie came out on June 15, 2013. This was done long before the movie was even planned. It was late morning and Rainbow Dash was pacing.

 

 

“Where is she?” Dash asked as she looked in the sky for the millionth time.

 

 

Twilight sighed.

 

 

“She’ll get here when she can,” she said.

 

 

“Yeah Rainbow Dash,” pipped in Applejack, “or did you forget what she told us yesterday?”

 

 

Dash sighed and humphed.

 

 

“I remember,” she said.

 

 

Sapphire Rush had told them that she would had to make sure Prince Dusk would be fine without her for a few hours. Twilight turned to her home.

 

 

“I’ll be right back guys,” she said.

 

 

Twilight walked into her home.

 

 

“Now where is that book?” she asked.

 

 

She had found a book about a sky war between the sun sister and a couple. All four could control the sun and moon. She thought Dusk would find it interesting, so she decided to give it to Sapphire to give to Dusk.

 

 

“That’s if I can find it first,” Twilight thought out loud.

Pinkie Pie was staring up at the sky, watching for Sapphire. Dash was behind her, arguing with Applejack. Pinkie jumped up when she spotted a blue Pegasus with a white Alicorn.

 

 

“I see them!” she shouted bouncing, “I see them! I see them!”

 

 

The others looked at Pinkie.

 

 

“Them?” Rarity asked looking up at the sky, “Is that Prince Dusk?”

 

 

“I thought he was a black Alicorn,” Stated Fluttershy.

 

 

Sapphire and the white Dusk landed. The white Dusk smiled.

 

 

“Hello again,” he said.

 

 

Everypony gasped.

 

 

“You are Prince Dusk,” exclaimed Rarity, “but you’re white.”

 

 

Dusk and Sapphire laughed.

 

 

“My Prince changes color depending on weather the sun or moon is out,” Sapphire stated.

 

 

Everypony nodded in understanding. Dusk smirked.

 

 

“You ready for the race?” Dash asked.

 

 

Sapphire smirked.

 

 

“Of coarse,” she said.

 

 

Dusk looked around as those two got into position.

 

 

Hm, he thought, Twilight must be busy some where. Best not disturb her.

 

 

Dusk looked back at the racers. Rainbow Dash was low to the ground while Sapphire was just standing straight up.

 

 

“On your marks!” Applejack yelled, “Get set! Go!”

 

 

And they were gone with a blink of an eye. Dash looked behind her to see on far behind Sapphire. She smiled when she saw no pony.

 

 

“You ho!” shouted somepony.

 

 

Dash’s eyes widen. She looked beside her to see Sapphire smiling at her.

 

 

“Looking for little old me!?” Sapphire shouted.

 

 

Dash’s jaw dropped for a moment before she smirked. She sped up, only to have Sapphire beside her again.

 

 

She must be fast to keep up with me, Dash thought, Cool! I’ve been waiting for a challenge like this!

Dusk smiled. Sapphire used her old trick on Rainbow Dash to get the smaller Pegasus’ hopes up. Sapphire flew above Dash at the start and waited for her to look for Sapphire so the captain could slip in beside her.

 

 

“Oh Dusk you’re here,” said somepony behind him.

 

 

Dusk looked and smiled.

 

 

“Ah Twilight,” he said, “I was wondering where you were at.”

 

 

Twilight blushed a little.

 

 

“Oh,” she said as she floated a book out of her satchel. “I found this book in the palace some time ago and thought you might be interested in it.”

 

 

“Well let’s take a look,” said Dusk.

No matter how many times Rainbow Dash sped up, Sapphire Rush was right there beside her. Sapphire laughed. Dash looked at her.

 

 

“What’s so funny?” she asked.

 

 

“It’s just,” Sapphire began to answer, “I haven’t had this much fun in years.”

 

 

Dash smiled and went back to focusing on the race.

“Look!” yelled Sweety Bell, “They’re coming back!”

 

 

“Go Rainbow Dash!” Scootalou cheered.

 

 

The cutie mark crusaders had joined the others sometime ago. Everypony looked up. There was Dash’s rainbow streak and Sapphire’s blue on light blue streak.

 

 

“They’re coming in for the landing!” Pinkie shouted.

 

 

With a huge gust if wind the two passed everypony. They landed a few feet away. Dash and Sapphire panted and looked over at Applejack.

 

 

“Who won?” Dash asked.

 

 

Applejack was in a daze.

 

 

“Sis?” asked Applebloom.

 

 

“Did Rainbow Dash lose?” Sweety Bell asked.

 

 

“That’s impossible!” shouted Scootalou, “no pony can beat Rainbow Dash. No pony can even t-”

 

 

“It was a tie,” Applejack finally answered.

 

 

“WHAT!?” everypony shouted.

 

 

Dash looked at Sapphire as her jaw dropped. Sapphire just grinned.

 

 

“You’re really fast Rainbow Dash,” she complemented, “fast enough to be a guard captain at Alamoria.”

 

 

Dash smiled.

 

 

“I would keep that in mind,” she said, “but for now I want to try my best and fly with the wonder bolts.”

 

 

Sapphire smiled.

 

 

“I know, without a doubt, you’ll make it true,” she said.

 

 

Dash’s grin grew bigger. Sapphire looked around.

 

 

“Now where did Prince Dusk go?” she asked.

 

 

“Oh he went into the library with Twilight,” answered Rarity, “said something about looking at a book.”

 

 

Sapphire goggled. Everypony looked at her. She waved them off.

 

 

“How about you all show me around,” she said, “I would like to see what this place is like.”

 

 

Everypony smiled and nodded. They started leading her around.

Twilight watched Dusk as he read the book she found. He’s face would change from happy to sad to mad and then back to sad. He laid the book down and looked away.

 

 

“I don’t want to read anymore,” he stated.

 

 

Twilight frowned and looked at the page he stopped on. The picture on the page showed an Alicorn that had one side white and the other black. It was casting a spell on the couple that was trying to win control over the sun and moon. Twilight looked back up at Dusk. He had a very guilty look.

 

 

“Dusk…” she said.

 

 

Dusk turned to her and put a smile on his face.

 

 

“I’m fine,” he said, “just a memory I try to forget.”

 

 

Twilight Blushed and nodded. Dusk’s smiles always makes her heart race. Dusk looked out the window in thought before turning back to Twilight.

 

 

“So,” he started, “what is it like to be Celestia’s student?”

They had walked around Ponyville for a few hours before stopping at Sugar Cube Corner for something to eat. They were talking for a bit.

 

 

“So the alliance between Alamoria and Equastria is weak?” Rarity asked, unsure about herself.

 

 

Sapphire nodded.

 

 

“The older ponies think we shouldn’t be allies to Equistria,” she continued, “the younger ponies think other wise. That’s why Prince Dusk forced all of the older ones to retire.”

 

 

“I bet they like to cause fights,” said Rainbow Dash.

 

 

“Oh yes,” she said, “Prince Dusk had to threaten death to a few already.”

 

 

She looked up at the sky to see how far down the sun was.

 

 

“We need to leave soon,” she stated, “where is the library again?”

When they got to the library they could hear Twilight laughing. Sapphire open the door.

 

 

“Did he really say that?” Twilight asked.

 

 

Dusk nodded.

 

 

“Oh he did,” he said and looked over at the door, “hey Sapphire!”

 

 

Sapphire smiled and step a side to let the friends through.

 

 

“My prince,” she said, “we best be leaving if you wish to make it to your lunch appointment with Shining Armor and Princess Cadance.”

 

 

Twilight gasped.

 

 

“You’re having lunch with my brother and sister-in-law?” she asked.

 

 

Dusk nodded.

 

 

“They wanted to get to know me better,” he answered, “plus to talk about a possible alliance with the Crystal Kingdom.”

 

 

Dusk smiled at Twilight again. Her heart raced again.

 

 

“I’ll make sure to tell Shining that you said hi,” Dusk said before he stepped out of her home and stretched his wings, “ ’till we meet again.”

 

 

“Thanks for the workout,” Sapphire said with a wink at Dash, “and thanks for showing me around.”

 

 

“You’re welcome!” beamed Pinkie.

 

 

They all waved at Dusk and Sapphire when they flew away.

Green silted eyes looked at the image of Twilight and Dusk in an orb. The eyes narrowed at Twilight.

 

 

“So you’re the one who hurt my sister and fouled her plans,” its voice said.

 

 

The image zoomed onto Dusk.

 

 

“It seems you are interested in the Alamorian prince too,” the voice said, “hmm I have an idea.”

 

 

The mouth that spoke grinned, showing white, razor sharp teeth.

 

 

“A most evil idea,” it said.

 

 

It then laughed a most evil laugh.

Dusk followed Twilight to the magic fields. She was nervous. Other than Celestia, Luna, and Cadance she never had showed off any of her spells to another royal. Twilight swallowed as they came up to a practice dummy. Dusk sat on the ground, watching her.

 

 

Okay think Twilight, she thought, What spell do you know that would impress him…I know!

 

 

Twilight’s horn glowed. The dummy turned into many doves. Twilight smiled and looked over at Dusk. He was standing up with an aw look on his face.

 

 

“A transformation spell,” he said, “it takes many years to be able to do one of those.”

 

 

“I learned it in a few days,” said Twilight.

 

 

“Amazing,” commented Dusk.

 

 

“Twilight!” a bunch of voices called.

 

 

Her and Dusk looked. Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie were coming toward them.

 

 

“Twilight Twilight!” Pinkie said bouncing, “there’s a lot of tasty sweets here! Oh hey, who’s this?”

 

 

“Guys this is Dusk,” Twilight introduced, “He’s the prince of Alamoria kingdom.”

 

 

They bowed to him.

 

 

“It’s an honor to meet you, your majesty,” Rarity said.

 

 

“Yours as well harmony of Generosity,” Dusk said.

 

 

He knew about them through messages from Celestia.

 

 

“Prince Dusk!” someone called from above.

 

 

Dusk looked up to see his guard captain flying down to him.

 

 

“Bored all ready Sapphire Rush?” Dusk asked.

 

 

Sapphire snorted.

 

 

“Rose Bud wanted to see you,” she said, “It’s about the garden.”

 

 

Dusk nodded. He looked at the main six and bowed.

 

 

“It was a pleasure to meet you all,” he said, “Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie. Until we meet again.”

 

 

He flew off, leaving them in aw.

 

 

Sapphire landed.

 

 

“Surprise that he knows you by name?” she asked.

 

 

They looked at her. That’s when they noticed that she was a bit taller than a normal pony.

 

 

Must be an Alamorian thing, thought Twilight.

 

 

“Uh yes, um…” answered Applejack.

 

 

“Sapphire Rush,” Sapphire said with a bow, “captain of the The Flight Guard.”

 

 

“Oh I herd about them,” said Rainbow Dash, “you’re suppose to be really fast.”

 

 

Sapphire nodded.

 

 

“At Alamoria we, the Flight Guard, take our speed seriously,” she said, “If we are too slow to get to where we are needed then we are useless. Though I have herd your pretty fast your self. Care for a little race at Ponyville tomorrow morning?”

 

 

Rainbow Dash grinned.

 

 

“You’re on,” she said.

 

 

“Um excuse me,” Fluttershy said shyly, “but what is Alamoria? I never herd of it.”

 

 

“Nor will you,” said Sapphire, “at least not in any book. You see 600 years ago Alamoria and Equestria were at war with each other. It was over Alamoria’s lands. Equestria was losing the fight, so Celestia made a peace treaty with Dusk’s father. If Equestria needed Alamoria’s aid, all they have to do is say the word and we’ll come.”

 

 

“But what was Equestria losing?” Twilight asked.

 

 

“Because our unicorns are trained to use their magic to see an enemy’s movement,” Sapphire answered, “you see our earth ponies deal with everyday life things, like harvesting crops, making clothing, ect. Our unicorns watch all enemies and potential threats movements. While us Pegasus protect every pony in the kingdom.”

 

 

The main six were awestricken. Sapphire smiled proudly. Alamoria was full of history. Most of it she wasn’t willing to give away. Sapphire stayed with the main six, talking to them.

Dusk spotted Rose Bud with her special pony, Lighthouse, beside a stand selling seeds. He landed while the two bowed. Lighthouse was a tall green stallion, very unusual for an Equestrian pony. He’s heart was in the right place though.

 

 

“My prince,” started Rose who was just a few inches shorter than her love, “I think you’ll find this useful for Alamoria.”

 

 

Rose pointed out a few seeds for crops they don’t have.

 

 

“Do you think every pony would like them?” Rose asked.

 

 

“Hmm,” Dusk said in thought, “I think so, but there isn’t enough here for all the farms.”

 

 

“I can get you some more, your Majesty,” Lighthouse spoke up.

 

 

“Thank you Lighthouse,” Dusk said. Lighthouse smiled and bowed.

 

 

He was right for Rose. There wasn’t another pony around like him. Dusk gave Rose his approval when she came to him and ask. She was, after all in charged of the castle gardens. He even told her that they are more than welcome to get married in the palace, which this caused Rose to blush.

 

 

“How have you been, by the way?” Dusk asked.

 

 

“I’ve been good,” Lighthouse answered, “what about your self?”

 

 

“I’m good,” Dusk answered, “I’m enjoying the fare here.”

 

 

“Same here,” Lighthouse said.

 

 

“Oh Dusk,” Rose said, “I know Sapphire is going to ask this later, but have you found somepony to be your princess yet?”

 

 

Dusk blushed and shook his head. Lighthouse smiled.

 

 

“Well there are plenty to choose from here,” he stated.

 

 

A horn blew announcing the five minuet mark ’till the magic composition.

 

 

“Well you best be off before you’re late,” said Rose.

 

 

Dusk smiled ad nodded.

 

 

“It was nice to see you again, Lighthouse,” he said before flying off.

 

 

Rose sighed and lend her head on Lighthouse’s neck. Lighthouse put his own head on top of her’s.

 

 

“He’ll find somepony,” he assured her, “Don’t worry.”

 

 

Rose nodded.

Celestia, Bloody Chaos, and Scarlet Fever were heading to the composition fields. They stopped.

 

 

“Well I better go and wait for my number to be called,” Scarlet said.

 

 

“Best of luck to you,” Celestia said.

 

 

Chaos hugged his sister.

 

 

“Give it your all,” he said.

 

 

“Thanks,” Scarlet said before heading off.

 

 

Chaos would have entered too if he wasn’t afraid of making Dusk uncomfortable. Speaking of Dusk, he landed just a few feet away from the stairs leading up to the balcony he and the other rulers where to set at. He nodded at Celestia and Chaos, before heading up.

 

 

“Have you been enjoying your self?” Chaos asked.

 

 

“Oh yes,” Dusk answered.

 

 

Dusk found Chaos and his sister interesting. Chaos was born at Alamoria, but Scarlet was born here at Equestria. Dusk found it wrong that their parents was willing to raise Scarlet, but not Chaos. Though at least they told Scarlet that she had an older brother some where. The reason their eyes was like they were was due to a fatality spell. Dusk’s father never found the young Chaos to be a monster, but others did. Dusk looked over at the entrance as a pink alicorn and white unicorn came up.

 

 

“Dusk this is Cadance and her husband, Shining Armor,” introduced Celestia.

 

 

Cadance and Shining bowed.

 

 

“Shining Armor, are you in any relation with a Twilight Sparkles?” Dusk asked.

 

 

“Yes,” Shining answered, “she’s my little sister.”

 

 

Dusk smiled.

 

 

“Though the color is different, you both look the same,” he commented, “she is a very talented unicorn.”

 

 

Shining smiled proudly.

As soon as Luna came, the horn blew to announce the start of the composition. Scarlet turned a sculpture of her self to life. Twilight combined two different transformation spells. At the end the third, second, and first places was announced. (I’ll leave it up to you for who got what. It can even be your own unicorn oc) Every pony retired for the night, Sapphire was looking forward to racing Rainbow Dash. Dusk had asked her if he could come along. She, of coarse, said yes. He wanted to learn more about Twilight. He said that she is a very gifted and very well rad. Sapphire snorted as she turned to her side in her hotel bed.

 

 

She’ll probably be our princess if she impresses him enough, she thought, she would be a wonderful one too…best of luck for you tomorrow, Twilight Sparkles.

 

 

Sapphire closed her eyes as she let her dreams take her away.

A group of Pegasus were flying in the sky toward Equestria. They were escorting an aricorn named Dusk. Dusk was a white stallion with a blond mane and golden feathers on the end of his wings. He was prince of a neighboring kingdom known as Twi. Dusk was headed to Canterlot for the magic festival. It was a once a year festival that lets unicorns show off their magic. Ponies, including royalty, come from every where to see. The Twi’s landed in front of the palace. Celestia and Luna were outside. Dusk and his Pegasus bowed.

“It is wonderful that you could make it this year,” Celestia said.

“I’m glad to have made it,” Dusk said.

He couldn’t make it last year due to problems in Twi. Dusk smiled at Luna.

“It is wonderful to have you back among us Princess Luna,” he said.

Luna smiled.

“I’m happy to be here,” she said.

“Come it’s time to start the festival,” said Celestia as she took to the sky.

The others followed suit. They landed outside of the festival grounds. Celestia lowered the sun. Dusk started to turn from white to black. His mane went from blond to gray and the golden feathers turned silver. For all his life he would change color if ether the sun or moon was out. No one really knew why, not even him. Dusk turned to his Pegasus and smiled.

“You all can go and enjoy your self’s,” he said.

An ocean blue Pegasus, his captain named Sapphire Rush, just looked at him.

“You’re kidding right?” she asked.

“Nope,” answered Dusk, “Rose Bud is all ready here with Lighthouse. Who knows you’ll might find your special one here.”

“Tsk,” was all Sapphire said before flying off.

Dusk chuckled. Luna bowed to her sister.

“May I leave as well?” she asked, “I wish to see what all is done here.”

“You may,” Celestia answered.

Luna smiled and flew off. Celestia turned to Dusk.

“I want you to meet my star pupil,” she said.

Dusk nodded and followed. Celestia looked around.

“Where is she?” Celestia asked her self, “Oh there she is. Twilight!”

A female purple unicorn came to them.

“You called for me princess?” Twilight asked with a bow.

“I would like you to meet Dusk,” answered Celestia pointing to him, “He’s the prince of the kingdom of Twi.”

“I heard about that kingdom,” Twilight said in aw, “their unicorns learn basics of magic at a really young age.”

“From what I heard you’re a master at it Lady Twilight,” Dusk complemented.

Twilight blushed.

“Why don’t you go and show him a few spells?” Celestia suggested.

“Okay,” said Twilight.

Dusk and Twilight walked off to the sat up magic fields.

“Are you trying to get those two together?” asked a deep voice.

Celestia looked behind her and smiled. It was her love Bloody Chaos. He was a red stallion with long black hair and golden eyes that his sister, Scarlet Fever gave him through magic. Speaking of Scarlet, she was right behind Chaos. She was a white unicorn with red and yellow spiked hair and green eyes. She smiled and waved.

“I brought him like you asked,” Scarlet said.

Chaos’ ears went flat against his head. He glared at Celestia.

“Thank you Scarlet,” said Celestia, “and to answer your question, Chaos, yes yes I am.”

There was silence. Chaos continued to glare at his lover.

“Look it’s very unhealthy for you to be in that castle all the time,” Celestia tried to reasoned.

Chaos continued to glare. Scarlet poked his cheek.

“I hate you both,” he finally said.

“Come on big bro,” Scarlet said while skipping over to Celestia who was smiling at her, “you’ll love it!”

Her and Celestia started to walk off. Chaos sighed.

“Mares,” he commented.

He followed right after them, not really liking the big crowds.

I wonder if her plan will really work, he thought, Dusk and Twilight did look good together….Celestia I hope you know what you’re doing!
